What is the difference between support stockings and compression stockings?
Support stockings and compression stockings are actually exactly the same product, but the name often differs depending on whether you are talking about socks that are used more in everyday life or if the socks are used in a sports context. Compression stockings that are used in everyday life are called support stockings. These stockings also often have a slightly lower compression pressure than the stockings used by athletes.
What are the benefits of using compression stockings?
When you use compression stockings with a good graduation, i.e. a compression pressure that is tighter at the ankle and gradually releases upwards over the calf, you help the body to increase blood circulation in the calves. More blood will not be formed, but the blood will flow faster in the calf. When blood circulation increases, more waste products are carried away with the blood and swelling in the legs decreases.
Regular use of compression stockings also reduces the risk of varicose veins. This is why pregnant women and people with a predisposition to varicose veins are often recommended to use compression stockings on a daily basis.
Are there support stockings with a function?
All Gococo support socks, like all socks in the Gococo range, have the functional material 37.5® Technology in the foot. This means that all our socks keep your feet comfortable and dry and the risk of cold sweaty or overly warm feet is significantly reduced.
Gococo's support socks are available in a number of different colors and in both wool and a thinner, cooler material. The support socks are unisex and fit both men and women. The size of support socks is measured using the circumference of the calf. That is the most important measurement! Since there is often a lot of elasticity in this type of socks, the foot has a lot of elasticity.
