How to choose the right socks for trail running

Så här väljer du rätt strumpor för trailrunning

Do you, like us, enjoy running freely in nature along paths, streams and over logs and rocks? At Gococo, we appreciate the ability of trail running to make us completely forget that we are exercising - that we are just there in the moment, hearing birds chirping and feeling at one with nature. But nature is also known to be wet, humid and slippery. That is why it is extra important to think about what you have on your feet when you go out into the forest.

In addition to a pair of really stable and secure trail running shoes that you can move around freely in during your run, socks also make a big difference to your run in the forest. Below you will find our best tips on good socks for trail running, and what to consider when choosing socks for running in the terrain.

Quick-drying trail running socks that prevent chafing

Gococo has developed Trail Running - A sock for trail running which is designed to provide extra support but at the same time be able to quickly handle moisture and wetness. The unique knitting in the sock supports both the arch and ankle on slippery and uneven surfaces, which is often the case when running trails. Thanks to the knitting, the sock also sits tight on the foot, which is an advantage when running in hilly areas so that the foot does not slide around in the sock. The functional material 37.5® Technology has an extremely quick-drying function that keeps the foot comfortable and dries quickly in the shoe when wet. Trail Running is the perfect sock for trail running as it prevents chafing and blisters!

Technical Cushion High Wool - on colder days, a wool trail sock may be preferable when running in the forest. Wool has the amazing ability to retain heat even when wet, something that is much appreciated on cooler days on the trail.

Merino wool is a soft and comfortable natural material that adapts to the body temperature of the foot; that is, the wool warms when it is cold and ventilates when it is warm. That is why our wool sock for running and hiking is a good choice for trail running on colder autumn and winter days.

High compression socks for trail running

We can also recommend Compression Wool  and Compression Superior The socks protect your legs nicely from twigs and branches along the trail. High compression running socks provide comfortable support and increase circulation in the calves during trail running and other activities.

Compression socks for trail running are available with or without wool. Opt for a pair of compression trail running socks when you want to perform at your best!
